| Grade 1 (Men/Ladies) |
| 1.3.2 | Scores in the finals start at zero |
| 5.3 | In first routine 2 skills count for difficulty, these must be asterisked and tariffed on the competition card It is the asterisk position that is given difficulty mark |
| 7.3 | Changes to 1st routine skills (0.2 in total from each judge) no matter how many changes. Repetitions (1.0 per repetition from each judge) Missing elements (1.0 per element) In 2nd routine, skills that received difficulty mark in 1st routine, if repeated, will lose the difficult mark. |
x | In the first routine the combined difficulty of the two counting skills for difficulty should be 2.3 or more. Should the difficulty be less than 2.3 the performer will receive a difficulty score of 0.0. The two counting difficulty skills may not count for difficulty in the second routine. If the competitor does not complete the first routine and one of the skills counting for difficulty has not been attempted, the competitor may receive the difficulty mark for the skill which has been completed, without penalty. The un-attempted skill from the first routine may then be used in the voluntary routine without penalty. |

Execution Judging Guidelines |
Four Key areas of an element are needed |
| | Take off • • | As straight as possible - should not show shape (phasing) Lifting Using the elasticity of the bed Arms as straight on take off as possible |
Shape • • | There is a physical requirement for greater flexibility Depth of shape (Pike in particular) Tightness of shapes Hand contact – shins – ankles Fast into the shape - fast out In doubles without twist - same expectations as singles. Multiple twisting doubles – should display clear shapes as tight as possible in the same way as singles |
Twist • • | Twisting should be done in the middle phase of the element. Arms on twisting should be straight and near to the body as possible. Crossed arms (rudi’s, Rbo) are now far less acceptable than straight ‘lined’ out arms. The twisting phase should be complete by the 2 o’clock to 3 o’clock stage. Doubles with twist - should be treated in the same way as singles There should be no twisting in the last phase of the somersault. |
| Exits | Timing of the kick out before the last phase - should be before the end of the middle phase, preferably at 12 o’clock The last phase should be straight all the way into the bed and lined out with arms close to the body Piking in during the last phase (before 3 o'clock) should be deducted The body should land as near upright as possible (within the parameters of the mechanics of the skill) Not holding a straight body or lined out arms in the last phase is deductable. |
|
For Perfection |
| | Straight at take off Delay before the shape No travel Deep shape - no arched body 12 o’clock exit Body held straight to give the illusion of straightness all the way into the bed Twists completed before the final phase Pointed fingers and toes, head aligned |
