| Just to finish off the year for the EMTTC events, we held the Regional Closed competition at Portland School on November 8th. Despite a fairly low turnout from the region's clubs, it proved to be a good competition with some memorable moments including broken springs, stylish routine endings and competing coaches! |
| Night Flyers sent a mixed team of beginners and more experienced bouncers, but they all did well in their respective classes and I'm sure they all benefitted from the experience. First up in the morning were Charlotte, Scarlett and Katie. Charlotte finished a respectable 5th and Katie was going really well until a slip meant that she ended her routine sitting on the mat At least she had the presence of mind to salute to the judges so they knew she'd finished! Good practice for the schools though - she'd only learned that routine last week. Scarlett has only recently returned to competition but put in a safe pair of routines to finish 8th |
| The under 11 girls were next, with Hollie leading the way, only narrowly missing out on a trophy in 4th place. Janelle followed a few places behind in 10th, while Bethan sadly had a bit of a mishap on the first move of her vol. Considering she only joined us a few weeks ago however, she did just fine! |
| Our two new boys were on next and did really well, finishing 2nd and 3rd in their classes - well done Kieran & Lucas. A mention too for Jasmin who put in a clean performance to finish half way up the fairly large class of Under 13 Novices. |
| The best result of the day though was for Becky, who is now the East Midlands Over 17 Elite Champion! Well done!! |
| So, the rest of you who keep finding excuses not to compete, now need to get out there are show what you can do! I expect to see a much bigger list of Night Flyers competitors at next years events please. |
