TScore

TScore is a new computer program to help you organise and run trampoline competitions.  It began life as an entry processor for the widely used Swescore program, focussing on the very time-consuming problems of collating entry forms from multiple clubs, working out timetables and trophies and coping with the inevitable last minute changes that we've all suffered from.
It proved so worthwhile, that I decided to take on the other problems with Swescore - the fact that it is based on a very old MS Access database, (which is somewhat ill-suited to concurrent network operation) for example, but most importantly because Swescore was no longer being developed and we had all sorts of rule changes coming into the sport that we needed to accommodate..
So TScore was born - using a SQL database for network resilient storage and MS Excel for the smart entry forms and output.  I also put significant thought into the usability aspects of the scoring program, as we frequently have novice recorders who need training in under 5 minutes. It truly is novice-proof!
It has been used successfully at our regional grading and schools competitions for the past 2 years, with very positive feedback from everyone who has used it.  I now want to try to get it more widely adopted.  It handles individual and synchro trampoline competitions only at present - DMT and Tumbling are planned in the next couple of months.  Below are a few screenshots and a bit of description.  If you'd like a trial copy (fully functional but time limited to the end of the year) email me.  I may have to limit numbers at first, so please get in quickly!
You can also download the User Manual to see what the program has to offer.
One last thing - there is also a companion product 'VScore' that gives a fully automated continuous display of the latest scores.  It looks for the classes that are running and presents the results for projection on a screen at your event.  The great thing is that it can run unattended - no more swapping classes etc.

NEW!!  TScore Website launched!
With a free evaluation copy until December 2009, now is a great time to check it out!

Start the program and choose whether to begin a new competition or just start scoringScoring is very intuitive.  Pick the competitor, enter the scores, then 'Save' or change competitors.  TScore guides you through all the way. Experience so far has shown that people with previous computer recording knowledge can just use TScore with around 30 seconds instruction!  Complete novices take just a few minutes to train. If you make a mistake, TScore gives you clear instructions on what to do next. Changing competitions is easy - you see a list of all the events with date and description of each

Organising a competition is also much easier.  Simply send out the prepared Excel entry forms for your clubs to fill in.  Age groups are calculated automatically from DoB.  The latest competition requirements are included - BG number for example.  Now process the entries as they arrive.  Just drop the files into a folder and hit the button.  TScore sorts out the classes, loads the entries, reads the officials names and jobs and creates an initial timetable, programme and list of trophies and team medals. There's a built-in interactive timetabler too.  The boxes are sized according to the number of entrants in each grade.  Just drag & drop them into the slots on up to 4 panels. When you save it, printable timetables are written to an Excel file and the panels & times are updated in the databaseYou can edit the entries in the database too. Add, withdraw, reinstate and alter details for any competitor.
TScore lets you confirm the changes in a clear presentation.

Printed results can be formatted through Excel - you can provide your own personalized template.

Full results are exported as Excel files - you can provide your own templates.  Qualifying scores (including percentage finish)  can be defined for each class, so that qualifiers are automatically highlighted.

Warning for missing or unusual scores If the scores are incomplete or vary by a whole mark or more, the recorder is asked to confirm the scores.
Set the number of judges on each panel If a panel is running with a reduced number of judges, this avoids being told there is a score missing for every competitor.

Templated printer formatting and an extensive range of outputsYou can design your own forms in which to present the printed information.
Click on the links below for some examples:
  Results - team and individual
Exports - the entire set of results and class configurations
Checklists - for Marshals, Chairs - can be generated per-class or for the entire event in one go
Manual recording sheets - can be generated per-class or for the entire event in one go (in the same file as checklists)
Programme - for the running order
Timetable - including Judges list (read from Entry forms) and Trophy List
Certificates - can be generated per-class or for any selection of individuals and include score, position, full name of club etc.

Competition Database ManagementEasy to use options let you copy and move databases between computers.  When selecting a competition you see the name, date, venue and description of the event.  The database export format is a text-based MySQL file.

Direct Competitor ImportYou can perform bulk import of competitors from a simple comma separated file if you have existing entry forms for example.
Imported competitors may be appended to the current entrants, or replace them.
Monitor Competition Progress Using the Competition Status report, you can immediately see how many competitors have recorded scores for each round in each class.  An indication of the expected finish time is given, with highlighting of any panels that are overrunning their schedule.

From this monitoring screen you can also go directly to view each class and also print the results as each class indicates that it has finished.  The classes for whom you have printed results are indicated, so you have a clear record of those you have processed.

This facility is invaluable for the competition organiser to readily check on progress.
